When One Hurts, We All Hurt

Dear Friends,

At Sharing is Caring, we believe that compassion, community, and faith can move mountains, especially when people come together to help those in crisis. This week, I’d like to share a few urgent situations we’re working on and how you can be a part of the solution.

💔 A Mother in Crisis

We were recently contacted by a woman who fled a domestic violence situation with her children. She is now homeless and moving from hotel to hotel, doing everything she can to keep her kids safe while living in fear that her abuser may find them.

We’ve reached out to multiple domestic violence shelters, but they are currently full. A generous soul covered a few nights in a hotel, but her funds have now run out. She’s also unemployed and in desperate need of stability. We're actively working to help her find safe, long-term housing and critical support services.

🔥 A Faithful Giver Loses Everything

One of our group members, someone who is always the first to help others, lost her home and belongings in a devastating house fire. Thankfully, she and her family were not home when the electrical fire started. While we are so grateful for their safety, the emotional and material loss is significant.

She will be displaced for months as her home is completely rebuilt. Her most immediate needs include:

  • Women’s clothing (Size Large)

  • Socks and undergarments

  • Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant

  • Baby boy clothing (Size 12 months)

If you’re able to donate any of these items, please get in touch, your help would mean the world.

💬 A Listening Ear for the Sick and Suffering

We’ve also been in contact with several of our members currently battling cancer, chronic illness, or emotional hardships. While we may not always be able to ease their pain, we can offer something just as vital: our presence, our prayers, and our compassion. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone is there to listen and care can be the greatest comfort of all.

🌟 How You Can Help

If you feel called to support our mission, here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Donate Items: If you have essentials to share, especially those listed above, please email us at contact@sharingiscaringaid.org. Include your phone number if you’d like us to call you.

  • Spread the Word: Share this post with your network. The more people who know, the more we can do.

  • Start a Group: If you're outside Michigan and would like to start a Sharing is Caring group in your area, I would love to talk with you! Imagine what we could do if every community had a group ready to show up with love and compassion.

💖 A Final Word of Encouragement

If you’re reading this and going through a hard time yourself, maybe you're facing loss, illness, or emotional struggles, please don’t stay silent. Reach out. We’re here to walk with you, pray for you, and remind you that you are not alone.

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ. Thank you for your love, prayers, and continued support.

With gratitude and hope,
